Port of Auckland Operational Update Shared Ferguson Terminal Closure - Update

29/8/2018

Please see the following communication received last night from Ports of Auckland

Good Evening,

First of all, we would like to thank you for your expressions of support and for your patience and understanding over the past two days as we have worked through the repercussions of the accident that occurred early Monday morning.

We plan to begin Receivals and Deliveries from 23:00 this evening and vessel operations from 19:00 tomorrow. Please bear with us as the staff come back to work, it has been a difficult time for the colleagues of our employee who remains critically ill.  It will be a “soft start” and we will keep you updated as operations slowly come back to full capacity.

VBS Bookings
Our Gate Ops team will manage the bookings to ensure that export cargo arrives in time for vessel cut offs and to avoid congestion at the gate.
All bookings from 23:00 tonight until 17:00 tomorrow will be cancelled. Carriers should contact Transport Co-ordinators for new bookings.  Priority will be given to imports that are discharged and clear, as  well as exports for vessels due in the next few days.

Import Demurrage
The Last Free Day will be extended for all vessels – please refer to the new dates which will be updated on the Vessel Schedule on our website here

Export Storage
Containers that have dwelt longer than seven days due to the delay in vessel load, will not incur export storage.

We will appreciate that the weekend hours for Receivals and Deliveries are used as much as possible to set up for a clear run next week.

It will be important that road carriers only send trucks for valid bookings. Trucks without valid bookings will be asked to leave.

Operations at Multi Cargo Wharves remain unaffected.

Thank you again for your co-operation and patience.  We will update you again by 14:00 tomorrow.

Keeping you informed!

BR International
