Fergusson Port & Empty Yard Closed - Update

28/8/2018

Please see below update from Ports of Auckland.

The investigation into the cause of the straddle accident at Fergusson Container Terminal is still ongoing and Fergusson Container Terminal and Empty yard remain closed.

All straddle operations will now remain suspended until at least 23:00 on Tuesday 28 August.

We may be able to restart receivals and deliveries from 23:00 on Tuesday 28 August.  The earliest ship-side operations could restart is 07:00 on Wednesday 29 August.  We are not able to restart empty hoist operations until other operations restart.

Please do not send any trucks to Fergusson Terminal or the Empty Yard until further notice.

All VBS up to 23:00 on Tuesday 28 August will be cancelled and we will continue to work with affected carriers regarding any demurrage incurred over this time. For any export cargoes for vessels due to arrive Thursday or later please make contact with the POAL Gate Ops team once operations resume so they can manage demand accordingly.

Operations at Multi-cargo remain unaffected.
