POAL preparing for resumption of operations 0700 hours Wednesday 15th February

14/2/2023

Dear Customer

Please see below release from POAL.

The worst of Cyclone Gabrielle has now passed Auckland and we hope you made it through okay. High wind continues to be a factor this morning but are likely to reduce later today.

The port will start limited work today to prepare for resumption of operations tomorrow at 0700:

-       Shipping movements will start from 1900 today to prepare for tomorrow.

-       Stevedoring and the container terminal operations will commence from 0700 tomorrow as planned.

-       We will prepare the cruise ship Arcadia for her departure.

-       The office will be open for non-operational staff to return to work from Wednesday (tomorrow) morning however some staff may continue to work from home if roads are blocked etc.

Thank you for the support and patience over the past few days. Following the lost operational time, we expect there will be some yard congestion and high demand on VBS bookings. We will manage the resumption as best we can, however as the supply chain may have been affected in other areas, we cannot promise a full service at this stage.

Please be patient with us and others as we catch up and return to normal operations. The team are working hard to support everyone as best they can.

We will resume communicating via the weekly Operational advisory or any Road Alert’s as usual from this afternoon.

Stay safe. Thank you.
