Dear Valued Client, Please see below notification received from Ports of Auckland today 17th January 2019 Good Morning, The holiday season has been a busy time for the freight industry and we look forward to working with you in this coming year. We have worked with various stakeholders during the recent import peak and over the Christmas period and are now seeing a more manageable volume of cargo flow along with more reliable truck turn times which enables us to revert to our standard business rules. From 1 February 2019, we will revert to the published standard free time for imports of three days after completion of discharge, extended to 0600 hours on the following day. Public Holidays are extra free days and are included in the free time published on our vessel schedule. The coming year will no doubt bring its challenges and we ask importers and trucking companies to prioritise DG cargo and reefer cargo, and to proactively manage demand and use of the Vehicle Booking System (VBS). We will continue to closely monitor the VBS, in particular No Shows, working together with trucking companies and their representative organisations. We welcome the opportunity to talk with cargo owners and trucking companies about supply chain issues you may be experiencing. Please contact the Customer Service team in the first instance. Keeping You Informed!
