Please see the below received from KiwiRail.

We have been advised by KiwiRail of a major Rail derailment due to a washout near Rata in the Manawatu. This derailment will cause delays for freight travelling across the country.

Service Impact 
This has an immediate impact on our network and we are expecting service delays for the next 48 - 72 hours. We are working closely with KiwiRail to understand further implications and impact to our service network.
