To Our Valued Customers,
Please be advised due to ongoing security risk and regulations, the Australian Federal Government have introduced 100% piece level screening regulations which will be commencing 1st March 2019.
ALL Australian Airfreight export cargo must now be cleared by either of the following:
Option 1: Originate from a Known Consignor, OR
Option 2: Piece Level Screening (service provided by our depot)
Option 1: Originate from a Known Consignor
Suitable for regular exporters.
Allows you to maintain a streamlined logistics solution whilst avoiding screening delays and additional costs.
Known Consignors will be required to provide a Security Declaration for all shipments as well as the original, signed Security Declaration accompanying the freight. When delivered to an airline it will be accepted as “clear cargo”.
Details on how to become a “Known Consignor” can be found on below link.
Option 2: Piece Level Screening (service provided by our depot) If not a “Known Consignor” then 100% piece level screening will be required and service fees will be rendered.
How this will affect cut off times:
Depots arranging piece level screening for cargo will require cargo cut off time brought forward to allow additional time for this process.
Cargo cut-off will need to be checked at time of placing the booking to ensure sufficient time is allowed for goods to be screened in order to make the nominated flight. There are various factors in the process to be considered which may affect the time take for screening including; how the cargo is packed, size of cargo, number of units & commodities.
NOTE: There is an option for priority screening, which will allow for a standard cut off time of 3pm for next day departure.
Screening methods:
Please note screening fees will differ for all shipments and can be checked at time of placing the booking. There are various factors which may affect pricing for screening including; how the cargo is packed, size of cargo, number of units & commodities.
We will continue to review processes and costs to ensure we are offering the best possible service and pricing.
These charges will be invoiced as a separate invoice line as incurred / disbursed on all AU Origin Airfreight shipments.
